Review Summary
Two people come together through unusual circumstances in this short drama from filmmaker Gavin Lin. It’s the 1970’s in Singapore, and Naomi (Angela May) makes her living cleaning telephones; she travels to businesses and private homes keeping the new gadgets that have become suddenly commonplace spic and span. While making her way through a large office complex, Naomi meets Jap (Timothy Nga), a nebbishy gentleman who nevertheless has some very contemporary notions about romance. While the telephone brings them together, it may not be enough to keep them together. Hello? was screened in competition at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
