All this week, we’ve been talking about business and people strategy at work. When someone raised the notion of “glocalization” i.e. adding a local flavour to global campaigns, our marketing guys showed this hillarious spoof of those Gary Oldman TV commercials for the Nokia N93 multimedia computer (aka smartphone). Check it out!

PS – Errm, no this isn’t a “product push” post! Just expressing my glee at viral consumer marketing. Also, if anyone knows who this Singapore dude is, drop me a line. We’d love to thank him! (And I mean that in a good way – no lawsuits!)

‘HELLo?’ in Slamdance

Just had our first screening and it’s been great. Audience seemed to get it. Been getting lots of compliments after the show. I did the intro and Q&A ok. Dan Mirvish was a great help. Feeling pumped. Been having jet lag and not sleeping well but maybe so many things are happening now. Trying to focus on each screening as it comes. There’s such a buzz in this town during the festivals. Makes me wonder how Asians or anyone else can compete in this industry- the Americans are just at the very top of the game and there’s so much infrastructure to ensure their edge, competitiveness and passion. Feeling really positive about my efforts in making movies/films.
