Frankie – ‘…cool man. No dialogue… nice TWIST at the end… the voiceover had to be there lah. Good call. Esp for TV audience bcos otherwise people watching (on tv) won’t have much patience… ‘

Tim- ‘ Nice twist… gives another layer to naomi. There’s a WTF factor to it at the end, which I like. Good choice!’

Update Part 2

Want to use this blog to remind myself of what I go through in my film projects. So these are some of the things I think I had left off-that I had finished shooting ‘TRACKS’ my third short in March and all the ADR recording. Been skirting around the post but this week I will jump in. Started prep and writing for ‘ei8ht’ since 1st April- bought a NIKON R10 Super8 film camera and been really excited with it. Shot the main stories that require actors last week Monday 17 April (Faith), 19 April(Gillian & Ckay), 20 (Chann & meimei) and 21 (Ashraf). Ordered some 6 more films from Spectra. Bought another Single 8 Camera -the Fujica ZC1000 the same one that first Ultraman was shot with. Yesterday night my short was screened on Arts Central at 1120pm along with the other finalists – felt weird, not as good as when I previewed it again in the afternoon.

After a long absence, I here again. So much has happened. Left our agency of 9.5 years. It was easy and hard. Finished ‘wei?’, finishing ‘tracks’ now and shooting ‘ei8ht’ now. Next week is the awards ceremony for Singapore International Film Festival. Very happy to be included this year but told myself if I didn’t win I’m ok. Really? Last week’s screening was good. Most people ‘gets’ the story. Definitely more receptive than last year’s ’subtitle’. Mom & Dad seemed to like it but it may be because they contributed so much props. A little proud that they like it. Cannes SIC didn’t accept my entry and I guess I should know better than to even hope. Maybe I have to make one very good one instead of doing so many so quickly? My head is full of ideas, fears, anticipation, hope and anxiety. Don’t know if I should take up the course in NY. Worried about money too. Sick these few days so don’t feel great. Also Tokyo Short Shorts accepted ’subtitle’ this year-that’s good.
